Woke 5.30 a.m. wrong inside & asthmatic too.
Saw Maggs re. the Codex Sinaiticus, Mr. Ettinghausen, & poor Frieda [Frieda Harris]. She will never listen to the people who know: ought to have been in the Baldwin-Chamberlain Governments.
2 P.M. Took
Flat sends a/c [account] for week in advance.
What to do? V. “Waiting.” O.K. French pub bursting with patriots, so I went to Fitzroy [Tavern]—Letter there dated Sept. 28 from Montgomery Evans!
Foyles’ [Bookstore] Hebrew Dept. man told me that this Ettinghausen was a four-flushing windbag.
Caught chill—feeling like
death—took 4th
10 P.M. felt very faint & ill.
