12 1/4 Driberg [Tom Driberg] at Holborn Restaurant drinks. Bet me a drink he had a paper with no reference to V sign—he lost. Aha!
Caton here 2 P.M. Tarot completely baffled him! He unmasked: really he wants books on torture and flagellation! I feigned an appointment with Winant; only got rid of him when under the protection of the Stars and Stripes!
Wrote Eileen suggesting that MM—— of [saturn jupiter pentagram] might use us in his job.
