[I Ching hexagram] 5.

     

Woke after bad night at 6.

     

Took 1/6 [Heroin]. Not at all urgent.

     

2 1/2 1/6 . Some wheeziness but not urgent.

     

6 M[orphine] & A[tropine].

     

Alice [Alice Florey] here very helpful.

     

5 Bayley [James Gilbert Bayley] here very cheerful.

     

Slept heavily 8-11.15.

     

Woke in great agony from the inflamed leg.

     

Some dyspnoea.

     

Eased dressing & took 1/6 . Reluctantly, but I had to be sure of getting quick relief.

     

Thus "waiting"—all day in bed.
