Woke 1 1/2 no 241 [asthma symptoms].

     

3 1/4 none(?)

     

4 (1)[hheroin].

     

Slept 4 1/2-7 1/4 (1A2)[Heroin].

     

10 o’c. Quite bad yen!! (3)[Heroin]

     

12 1/4 ditto (4)[Heroin].

     

This is strange & a little disquieting.

     

Writing to F.H. [Frieda Harris], E.N. FitzG. [Edward Noel Fitzgerald] No: Couldn’t face the F.H. letter.

     

Moules Mariniere at Café Royal.

     

Heavy sleep 2 1/2-4 3/4 woke with some 241 (5)[Heroin].

     

M.A.S. [Maurice A. Sutherland] Chess: I couldn’t get interested: the sole problem being how to avoid his monotonies(?)!

     

Dull, tendency to headache 9 o’c. M[orphine] & A[tropine] Hoping for a good night’s sleep.

     

Pola, too, came in about 5.30: I just couldn’t bear her!
