Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

[I Ching hexagram] 44.

Woke from endless tamashas.

3 1/2 (1)[Heroin].

6 3/4 (2)[Heroin].

9 o’c Jap War excited me: brekker [breakfast] collapsed me! Coramine[1] and (3)[Heroin].

Frieda [Frieda Harris] wired inviting me Tues-Fri.

Agitated: this hurry, Whiteley’s case came, F&M [Fortnum & Mason] let me down on Uisge [whisky].

12 1/4: took (4)[Heroin] as Pam is due to lunch.

5 1/2 This (4)[Heroin lasted very well, but somehow the whole air is full of furious unrest.

Took small (5)[Heroin] hoping to avoid M&A[tropine] altogether.

Will take life easily for a bit.

9 sleep.

10 1/4 241 [asthma symptoms] pain over heart. Yet three elaborate detailed dreams of giving before rousing myself to do so. M&A.

1—Coramine is a circulatory stimulant and was used in the mid-twentieth century as a medical countermeasure against tranquilizer overdoses.
