Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

[I Ching hexagram] 53.

2 1/4 woke 241 [asthma symptoms] (1)[Heroin]. Work on poem ["Landed Gentry"].

9 1/4 woke XOPn (2)[Heroin].

9 3/4 (3)[Heroin] dark, gloom, utter deadness of the whole world! It feels positive: full lights on-forlorn-hope effect.

Noon (4)[Heroin]. Total 5/6 gr.

Ghastly wind from NE.

4 3/4 after nap (5)[Heroin] “final”.

7 1/4 (41)[M&A(tropine)].

8 1/2 (6)[Heroin]. Entertaining F.H. [Frieda Harris]. This (6) was definitely a mistake, though it served its immediate turn. But it meant not sleeping till after 12, & then but uneasily.

Strange case of a god coming to life, despite the Missionaries’ pride in having destroyed him—Jaganath!

Frieda [Harris] thinks it is good argument. “I can’t play the violin: therefore, Kreisler, who says that he can, must be ‘bogus’.
