Pleasant talk with Astley about pipes.

Charming note from Sun Engr[aving] Co accepting 25% terms with ‘pleasure’ and offering 10% on whole a/c [account] if balance is paid promptly.

Frieda [Frieda Harris] writes, begging me not to communicate with them, as they “resent” my so doing!

Herphobias bore me: this was really curel, and laid me out physically: 6 hours later! Am still shaken.

Telegrams worried about my wire to Saturnus [Karl Germer]: I explain phrases in detail. ?Dangerous using an Abramelin?

Cold again, but out shopping briskly—Frieda outed me.

Foot very bad. Began M₉SO₄ [Magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salts)].

Tot 1 7/12 [Heroin].

Finished Leffingwell [Roy Leffingwell] letter re USA Natl Anthem.

MAS [Maurice A. Sutherland] chess. Two brilliant games, then tired, I lost one, drew one, & won the last—just somehow.
