Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

Thursday, 3 September 1942

The accursed sow [Deborah Hogg] actually parked herself in my bedroom and poured out a string of abuse. Half drunk.

Mrs. Hinks spoke freely of her while she was out, this morning: Of course she can't keep servants, and she is boycotted by the whole neighbourhood. No callers, letters, or telephone calls; the old swine knows only her family, who dodge her, and those whom she pays.

I retired early, dead beat, and the nightmare pursued me even after I was in bed.
