Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Thursday, 24 September 1942
Disgraceful scene at breakfast. Ogress [Deborah Hogg] shouting insults at the General [her husband] and banging on the table. He left his breakfast 1/4 way through. Then she gathered up hers and followed. The Saffron [the Hogg's daughter] gobbled hers up, and left me alone to my enjoyment. So I got an extra share of dive-bombing.
At night she burst into my bedroom, storming about my letter to Peter [Peter Brook]. Shouted the foulest abuse. Then 'suppose I would have to stay' the moment I proposed to wire for room. Hogg dreadfully poor-spirited worm.
