Corrected proofs of Small Cards & “Behaviour of the Tarot” [for The Book of Thoth].
A man, rather well-dressed in a provincial way, as looking at the chemists’ shop next door to 93 as I came out. He asked me if the shop was open!!
M.B. [Maisie Burger] [for dictation] 5 1/2 Finished “Jack the Ripper”. Wrote to Fred Mellinger [Frederic Mellinger].
Beat Leo Seen [in chess] 11-1. The “loss” was merely a pawn or so—and my temper!
