Aleister Crowley Diary Entry Sunday, 28 May 1944
[I Ching hexagram] 32.
In an aerodrome the other side of Ayelsbury (I am not sure of the date) a bomber, returning home after failing to find its target, crashed & blew up. The explosion shook this house quite noticeably. Distance I suppose 8-10 miles, perhaps more. Started to look like a Hadji by growing a beard.
