Cordelia [Cordelia Sutherland] here with suitcase etc = [I Ching hexagram] 45 Zhui.
Lamp-mending, chess; she won a game (bar a slip or two) with a really superb sustained attack, with sacrificial combinations & so on. I’m damned pleased.
No time for anything: after she went, on with plug: found fault, fixed it, got Shinwell [Heroin] for finishing touch.
All easy, & after 10 days’ agony—through Feather’s foolishness & Aylesbury’s falsity—and my own slackness!
