Wrote to Gladys Mitchell.

Friday lunch.
Idea to discourage divorce: within 3 years of the “absolute” the parties can remarry if they wish, giving a year’s notice. The “home-breaker” would thus have to take a serious risk. Good ‘.’ so often pride, obstinacy & passing passion cause the separation; and it would soon appear if the new adventure was likely to fail, if retreat were made easy.
