[I Ching hexagram] 2.
Chess nearly as bad as Thursday.
V.[ersus] Stephenson [chess] 1/2 (should have won, got tired, & offered draw) I; and a skittle taking moves back etc.
Lightning as car was nearly due.
Now begins the most astonishing dream; even if I had endless energy & absolute memory, I could not put it down as it should be. This (I think) came from a very passionate invocation of Aiwaz when I turned my light out.
