Chess v.[ersus] Mackenzie—after 5 years trying to get him to play me! Won 2-0 ... & trapped him rather as I did Cole yesterday. 2 English. Again ... let loose a desperate counter-attack just when I thought I was beaten, & I came out R&P up! I seem to be back to my best form, or near it: Praise mine Angel & the dentist!)
Mack[enzie] was 3 years Champion of Scotland, & 8 years (I think) of Bram.
