Joad [C.E.M. Joad] lectured; some wit. Then bored us re birth control. After, I tackled him re “cashed in on God”. He: I had the right to change my mind.” I: But to describe so tremendous a spiritual upheaval the language is surprising.” He: “Oh well, I can’t issue a writ: he sent me the proofs”.
