Leah Hirsig Diary Entry

12.45 A.M. I cannot sleep.

After an hour or so of "thoughts" I have made up my mind to write down a few facts that interest me.

1. In 1920-21 or thereabouts 666 had the opportunity of circulating the Chiswick Press stock by not paying £350 to that firm. I advised him thusly. He held on thinking to make a fortune.

2. The expulsion of the whole colony from Cefalu has been postponed for one year (I do not doubt the rumours). If the Gods wish the "valuable" effects saved as 666 and I made arrangements for, they will see to it, in spite of V.L.'s [Adam Murray] disobedience. I am however inclined to think that they  will form part of the war engine in as much as the "sacred" things will be confiscated etc. and scattered among those who will be "wiped out" by them.

This is not clearly past. I think we have all the really essential things here and we shall simply start to consecrate new weapons.

The Gods no longer consult 666—he has been a bloody fool in Their estimation—They act.

I see nothing desperate about the situation—and there will be no loss if we lose all. I admit I arrived at this conclusion after a very painful period of "cat fits". But I have arrived safely and I trust, no I know, that 666 will see it that way, when he is ready.

How can I doubt the Gods, ever again?
