WILFRED TALBOT SMITH being duly sworn according to law, deposes and says:— That he is the REX SUMMUS SANTISSIMUS of the Church of Thelema, a religious society, the Chief Priest and presiding officer of said society; that the said Church of Thelema is a purely religious society, organized and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, educational and other non-profit purposes of a similar character; that the reasons which prompted the organization of the REX SUMMUS SANTIMISSIMUS of the Church of Thelema, a corporation sole, are and were, for the purpose of owning and holding such real and personal property as may be necessary and suitable for the carrying out and accomplishing the edification and happiness and welfare of its members; that its sole and only of its income is and will be from voluntary contributions and donations from its members and those who may be desirous to aid and help their fellow man and woman; that no part of its income or increment will inure to any private stockholder or other person or member; that all of its property of every kind will be only used for the spiritual welfare and mental and physical well-being of its members and those who are in need and unable to help themselves; that any and all increment or profits which may, in any manner accrue to it, will be used and expended for like purposes.

ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION.
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:— That I, Wilfred Talbot Smith, Rex Summus Santimissimus, the chief priest and presiding head of the Church of Thelema, a religious society; with the intent to organize and establish a corporation sole under and by virtue of the laws of the State of California, United States of America, and more particularly, the provisions of Division 1, Part 4, Title 12, Article II, Sections 605g, 605h, 605i, 605k, 605l, 605m, and 605n, of the Civil Code of said State of California; for the purpose of administering and managing the affairs, property and temporalities thereof, and, in doing so, to assess and collect dues and other contributions of money or other valuables, from members and friends of said society and to retain and disburse the same for the use and benefit of said society; to acquire, by gift, purchase, lease, or other lawful means, and to own and/or hold the title to or possession of any and all property, whether real, personal and/or mixed, and wheresoever situated or located, and whensoever and/or howsoever acquired, for the uses and purposes of said church of Thelema and its members; to sell, convey, mortgage, lease, and/or otherwise dispose of or encumber such property or any part thereof; to erect, build or otherwise construct or acquire church buildings and other structures for the use, occupancy in and about the comfort, worship, services, meetings and other purposes, of the officers and members of said society and any and all branches or divisions thereof; do hereby declare, state and certify:—
I.
That the corporate name of said corporation sole shall be "Rex Summus Sanctissimus of the Church of Thelema."
II.
That I, the said Wilfred Talbot Smith, Rex Summus Sanctissimus, of the Church of Thelema, am duly authorized by the rules, regulations and discipline of said Church of Thelema to take the action herein provided and described.
III.
That the principal office, for the transaction of the business and temporalities of this corporation will be and now is in the City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles, State of California, United States of America.
IV.
That, in order that no vacancy shall occur in the office of Rex Summus Sanctimissimus of the Church of Thelema, I hereby further declare that I have, by my will and testament, names and appointed a true and faithful successor to me in such office at my physical dissolution; and I hereby most solemnly caution and lay upon he conscience of my successor and those that come after me the never-ending obligation to, by will, designate and appoint a successor to his high office. However, if by any hap, a vacancy shall occur in the office of "Rex Summus Sanctimissimus" such vacancy will be filled by Baphomet, the Outer Head of the Church of Thelema; which is the manner required by the rules, regulations and constitution of said Church of Thelema.
V.
That no person will have any voice or vote, either directly or indirectly, in the election or choice of any officer who may, either directly or indirectly, or ultimately, choose or appoint the "Rex Summus Sanctimissimus" of said society unless such person be a member of good repute of the Church of Thelema and a sincere, devout, and consistent believer in the teachings and faith of Thelema, as set forth in
