C. F. Russell Diary Entry

SIXTH DAY.

12:24. "Kephra".

4:44. Partook of the "Secretest Sacrament", very informing (sounds like shit to me—why not rather fill a gap with **** like A.C.).

5:44. First mouthful of w w today.

6:12. Secret fourfold word for "I" in consecration.

6:17. Information about a book to be written beginning with Zed (probably Z[nuz] is Z[nees]).

6:42. Another big chaw of w w.

7:10 a.m. s s at 4:44 is a must if you want to stay sane—but who does?

7:56. Key to writing is exactitude—there is a mathematical key to the Abramelin talismans.

8:30. Put rest of w w (THIS) in inside pocket of B B. Pride conquers Curiosity and ------ conquers Pride.

9:09. Mind and pen almost slipped together but f f word made good—could have been a fatal faux pas since I am sitting where THEY go in and out. (now there's a classic spurt of nonsense, or spate of humbug, whatever you care to call it!

9:14. Almost forgot and did a banishing ritual, that would be just dandy!

9:20. Music from Northern Quarter wafted Eastward.

9:26. Good riddance to Belial.

10:08. Mustn't forget my manners!

11:19. Great Illumination! (and another soldier and/or Indian bit the dust).

12. Ritual very simply performed wholly in English.

12:05. Certain Spells must be kept secret—professional ethics, you know. Just noted a flagrant injustice, the handkerchief She brought ME is a diaper!

12:32. Ardor.[ation].

12:37-1/2. Only thing to do now is to remain on top of this Rock, as far as food and drink are concerned. I will now leave here and enter the Cave. Next entry will be that I go down—to avoid inconvenience—made on the outside back cover.

12:42-1/2 p.m. -- (written on back cover).
