Meredith Starr Diary Entry Monday, 27 June 1910
From ΘΕΛΗΜA.
"Let the foam of the grape tincture my soul with delight!"
"Intoxicate the inmost, O my forever, not the outermost!"
Unspeakable, O Adonai, is the yearning with which I yearn to thee! "A passion like the passion of the sea" consumes me with unutterable desire. Evoe! Iacche! Evoe!

11 A.M.—12 A.M.
There flames in the vastness a star, White with a passionate heat; It maddens my soul from afar Where spirit and senses meet.
It burns with unquenchable fire Enfolding a glowing rose, Whose tremulous petals aspire To cool, immemorial snows.
O Rose with the Heart of Fire! O Rose with the Secret Name! My spirit burns with Desire, And my soul is flushed with flame!
O passionate, crimson Rose! O Rose with the red, red Core! Burn with ineffable throes My spirit for evermore!
Neuburg took me for a astral journey. I distinctly felt I was out of the physical body—but could not see anything. N[euburg] said I was enwrapped in a thick dark cloak—which grew as fast as he tore it off. He said I rose up with him all right, but I could not see—however much I tried to.
Will try again on Wednesday—he will try and get Crowley's assistance.
