Meredith Starr Diary Entry Friday, 1 July 1910
Slept 7 hours from 3 A.M. — 10 A.M.
At 10 A.M. just after I had awakened to my surprise I found that—try as I might—I could not feel my heart beating. There was not even the slightest tremor. . . . Yet I felt perfectly well.
My heart must either have stopped or must have been beating so faintly that one could not detect the pulsations. I think this is a sign of strength. . . . as I feel wonderfully well. Mental Power as strong as ever. (Col. Townshend could stop his heart beating whenever he liked by adopting low diet and reposing himself).
Found my verses—Garden of Love—and The Ledges— in Vanity Fair.
Dinner with the Fullers [J.F.C. Fuller]: Crowley was there.
