Meredith Starr Diary Entry Wednesday, 17 August 1910
9 - 9.40 p.m. Invoked Hecate, Tartarus, Tisiphone, Megara, Alecto, Echidna, and all the furies of Hell.
Will now go to sleep, without banishing any forces I may have evoked, just to show them that I defy any of them to harm me personally.
Burned—before I began invoking— some [illegible].
I woke up once or twice during the night—feeling very fierce—as tho' I were hounding someone of something to death—as if I were strangling a lion—and very intense. Towards morning I had a very vivid dream about C.M.D.
