Jane Wolfe Diary Entry Friday, 30 July 1920
Afternoon bathing.
How is this? The mind of A.C. so gigantic, his experiences so vast and of such intense nature that not barring a proper [illegible], a sea in which to bathe that shall satisfy all needs during the periods of rest, he has to resort to what seems almost [illegible] reactions? i.e. the [illegible] to ordinary mortals are violence in expression of [illegible] and color and "distortion". He is capable of a profound hardiness.
