Jane Wolfe Diary Entry

A.M.

Arrived in Palermo last evening at six and went to Hotel des Oalmes. Dinner served at 8:30. Returned to my room at 9:30, prepared for bed, intending to read till 10:30 and then take up hour's work. Fell asleep. When I waked I could not work and slept till 7 the a.m. A wonderful night's rest! Very refreshing.

7:32 - 52

ASANA, thunderbolt.

7:52 - 8:12

DHARANA, yellow square.

Difficult, as my mind wished to 'chatter', and I hiccoughed for 10 minutes.

8:20 - 35

HARPOCRATES.

Stopped the 'chattering'; got picture but could not get the stillness.

P.M.

9:55 - 10:15

ASANA, thunderbolt.

10:15 - 20

DHARANA, yellow square.

Simply could not work with chattering people, a piano going and the large mastiff downstairs barking vociferously. In a horrible state. May, 1918 I knew I was sane: now I am not so sure.
