7:30 - 50

ASANA, thunderbolt.

Again a runner. Later came restriction of upper part of stomach region. Willed ‘I am’ consciousness to spot & breathed deeply and regularly against it, which made throat feel as though used incorrectly in reading aloud.

7:42 - 8:00

DHARANA, yellow sq.

Started yellow sq. but stopped and went after stomach. Discovered I was holding it; gave release and with that came more stature—as though pressure had been removed from a young shoot and that it then straightened & shot upwards. Expansion & freedom in throat especially right side, up across right eye and into right lobe.

This spot has troubled me time & again in Cal. Once there was a fine relief which I seemed to breathe consciously from between shoulders.

10:25 - 55

ASANA, thunderbolt.

Used too much strength on this.

Will take this up on hill, when I have time to go.

10:55 - 11:15

DHARANA, yellow sq.

Got well into this, for 15 mins. Then leg in such torture I moved it and returned to work.

Is not the perfection of concentration in dropping & taking up at will a subject—starting again where one leaves off? C. B. DeMille who, in any conversation having a definite end in view, can stop at a point selected by himself, lead his hearers through a labyrinth and return to the identical comma and continue. To what extent can this concentration & memory be carried?

In holding sq noticed I breathe deeply & fully thro left nostril, breath at times seeming to flow into head, which I found invigorating.
