Jane Wolfe Diary Entry

Saturday, 25 September 1920

A.M.

5:47 - 6:08

ASANA.

Mind held forth on various arguments:

1. With God living in the heart, radiating out to all, the proper word on the lips at the proper time, does one need to shout Him from the house-tops.

2. Which, to the average onlooker, are the more convincing—the freak; or the one who, through a splendid conviction and in God-inspired simplicity, puts aside years of conventionality, traditions born and bred in the bone and who therefore stands in a fine serenity?

6:08 - 30

DHARANA, yellow sq.

Difficult to visualize at first, then found myself taking hold with the ‘baby fingers’, through strengthened somewhat now.

I see I have not entered in diary an experience of last fall of becoming conscious, just after the stilling of objective before sleep, in a body of great majesty and poise. Was that the spiritual? Is this the spiritual now endeavoring to reach through? With it comes poise, the impersonal, and a consciousness of life above all this petty turmoil—which at times seems so gigantic.

P.M.

I come up here on hill, stagger and fall, and sob and sob violently for almost an hour because [remainder erased]

I am shaken to the core. It comes thick and fast!

9:45 - 10:05
