Naples, since 8 this morning. No room until noon, so I look up Dr. Wedgderick and then walk slowly back, regarding the lay of the city. To my room at 12:30, utterly exhausted—the same weariness of the past week. I sleep from one until four. I still feel like resting so continue reading of Butterfly Net [Moonchild], putting down, dozing off, waking and reading again. About 6:30 comes an internal realization of—Purpose? Purpose stripped of personality? An elimination of garments that restricted. With this comes greater clarity in top of head.
