Jane Wolfe Diary Entry

I drained out, twice. It was thought I might die, or was dying. Exhaustion. Unconscious.

After 11 weeks in hospital, I went to Villa du Roule, Neuilly, to recuperate.

Here my left leg began to swell. So after a time I went back to hospital for treatments—radiotherapy, 3 times a week. This devitalized me completely: I had nervous chills, when I was sure I was dying.
