Luther "Lew" Livingstone Carroll

Luther Carroll was the orphaned son of a Baptist minister and had been involved in the Hollywood homosexual underground. He rejected the faith of his father in preference to Thelema and was groomed for the part of Deacon in the Church of Thelema. He and his wife, Toni, moved in to the Agape Lodge profess house at 1746 N. Winona Boulevard, Los Angeles, on 11 November 1937 and by the following January Toni had left him for another man.

Luther signed the A∴A∴ Oath of Probationer on 18 March 1939 under Wilfred Talbot Smith. He was initiated into the 0° and 1° degrees of the O.T.O. on 26 August 1939 and 9 September 1939 respectively through the Agape Lodge.
