Carrie May Dinsmore

Born: 1889.

Died: 1972.

Carrie May Dinsmore was an American disciple and a divorced lady of New Thought persuasion who was the inventor and owner of patent no. 1,805,573 for a "slip-knot garment hanger" useful to dry cleaners. She generously gave a total of 30% of the expected royalties from its sale as a "love offering" to Crowley and 3% to Max Schneider for referring her to Crowley. Her devotion was willingly expressed in monetary terms, up to mortgaging her household furniture to raise money to publish Crowley's books and bring him to America.

She joined the AA under the direction of Wilfred Talbot Smith and signed the Oath of a Probationer on 16 August 1933, taking the motto "Victorious attainment through Love—Understanding—Wisdom."
