Aleister Crowley first met Hanni Richter on 4 April 1931 and they went to a discreet dive on the Mittelstrasse, a block north of the Unter den Linden in Berlin, Germany.

On 8 April Crowley and Hanni performed a magical sexual operation at Karl Germer's apartment for the purpose of providing sex energy. They met again on 12 & 14 April and performed operations for the purpose of health. On 21 April they performed another operation for the purpose of energy. On 3 May they performed an operation for Hanni Jaeger. On 8 May they performed another operation for the purpose of energy.

On 9 May 1931 Crowley sent Hanni out with his $20 gold piece to get change and he never saw her again.
