James Thomas Windram
Born: 1877. Died: 1939.
James Thomas Windram was a close friend of Crowley's who had spent much time with him analysing the Enochian magical system of the Elizabethan magus John Dee and his seer Edward Kelly. Windram had risen to the grade of Adeptus Major in the A∴A∴, and in 1914 was only one of a handful of members of the O.T.O. to be admitted to the IX°. Shortly thereafter he returned to his native South Africa and founded an O.T.O. lodge. Crowley then bestowed upon him the X°, and appointed him "Summus Rex" of the Union of South Africa, with jurisdiction over all O.T.O. activity in the region. |
