Mary Katherine Wolfe (Mary K.)
Born: 1876. Died: 1958.
Mary K. was the sister of Jane Wolfe. She had experience as a Red Cross nurse in France and, when the war was over, was broken in health. She had been a nurse all her life and this enabled her to earn enough money to support her mother and Jane. While in France she had met Aleister Crowley who reminisced: "I like your sister. (The inward nature of her, that's to say. the outward heartiness in the 'nurse's' manner,' I think, and the assertion of gentility but a habit of defence acquired in the Red Cross"
