Composition by Auguste Rodin

 

Auguste Rodin provided Crowley with ten sketches for his use in Rodin in Rime for which Crowley used only seven. The remaining three sketches were used for Rosa Mundi, Rosa Coeli, and Rosa Inferni. The frontispiece is a color lithograph of executed by Auguste Clot after an original pencil and wash design by Auguste Rodin.

     

Published under the pseudonym of H. D. Carr. Crowley “borrowed” the surname of Auguste Rodin's wife Katie Carr and used it to form his pseudonym.
