Chapter I

 

X.Y. is ill in hospital. He raves about a great treasure that he possesses. This treasure is stolen from him, and there is a row.

 

The treasure is a plaque 'The Annunciation' by Cellini.

 

Chapter II

 

Syndicate of criminals trying to get possession of plaque. They offer rewards for its recovery.

 

The plaque photographed and distributed all over England.

 

The plaque is handed into Scotland Yard. Owner then explains that 'tis not the plaque itself that is valuable, but that there was a secret silver plate engraved with the key to find a great treasure. This has been stolen £100 reward.

 

Mr. Aubrey Berkeley the famous clairvoyant, finds the plate hidden in a pond at Hampstead, or an old bric-a-brac shop.

 

Publication of plate with cipher, and reward of £100 for its interpretation.

 

Mr. Whinneray the savant deciphers the plate.

Journey to the spot indicated by the cipher.

 

Discovery of casket with the MS of the Golden Book in the Character of Honorius, engraved on silver.

 

Mr. Aleister Crowley deciphers. The inscriptions, which are then published (a) as a serial (b) by Jacobi.
