M. Longstaff’s energy is more nearly energetic enough to approach something like expressive form. “With an Artist’s Model” is striking, and there are snatches her and there of stirring emotional verse.
Mr. Aleister Crowley, for all his ambition and his skill in mimic Swinburnian thunder, must be similarly appraised. Many are called, but few are chosen. |
