SOME RECENT POETRY.
In quarto form, and the glory of fine type and paper, Mr. Allister [sic] Crowley’s “Tannhaüser” (Kegan Paul, Trench, Trübner, and Co.) makes a brave show. Beyond these adornments Mr. Crowley has very little to offer but “words, words, words.” His poem has the semblance of drama, without being in the least degree dramatic. His verse is in diction so turgid I feel constrained, like Mr. Yellowplush, to call on “men and hangels” to “egsplain.” |
