Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Frederick Leigh Gardner
[Undated: circa 25 November 1899]
Dear Sir,
Your irresponsible communication of 17 [?] forms a fitting culmination to the disgraceful treatment which I have experienced at the hands of Mr. Mathers [MacGregor Mathers].
The money which I advanced him was obtained from [?] under the most pitiful plea of poverty, but he apparently is dead to all sense of pride and self respect.
