Yours of 17th.
I answered most of it yesterday.
On no account jeopardise 4. III [Magick in Theory and Practice].
I had no idea that £30 could embarrass you, or I wouldn't have taken it. I thought it was part of the £400, as against the July 30 remittance from Germer [Karl Germer]. (By the way I'm frightfully stupid about all such matters: you'll have to make every allowance.)
But: I am not in Switzerland, and haven't been for years; and "inducement" begins with an "i".
Glad about Bayley [James Gilbert Bayley]—not "Bailey"—I hope he'll walk straight about Pickfords.
By the way, I asked the Yi about how the money of the loan or loans was to be spent. Up came your special symbol (55) again!! I interpreted it: "Leave the whole matter in Yorke's hands."
I may make suggestions; but please be absolutely firm and not allow my supposed wishes or necessities to warp your business judgment.
The dies may be useful to illustrate 4 III.
Olsen [Dorothy Olsen] has a very good friend, a millionaire, about 90, deaf and nearly blind. He might well put up any amount. Please write her very energetically.
Should like to know G. C. Jones' [George Cecil Jones] real attitude to the whole question; also, your personal reaction to him.
Curious about the boils—as K [Kasimira Bass] and I were both attacked in Paris. N.B. Her lack of mental resources make it infernally dull for her in any really decent place. She needs flowers, and cocktails, and new clothes, and theatres to be her best self. Nature starves her. So I want to give her a "good time" (help!) at the critical moment.
Have just got "Saturn Gnosis" from Berlin, with my "Little Essays Toward Truth" and good reviews of the German publications. So we have two gangs in Berlin more or less adherent to the Word.

Fraternally,
