Correspondence from Aleister Crowley to Stuart R. Cope [of the Lecram Press]
Ivy Cottage, Knockholt, Kent.
Nov. 7th, 1929.
Dear Mr. Cope:
I am sending under separate cover the corrected proofs of Part 4 [of Magick in Theory and Practice]. The only serious point is that I seem to remember the Gnostic Mass having been among the proofs of Part 3, and we do not want to print it twice.
The typescript appears to have been misplaced so I can't return it at present, but I don't think there is any need for you to refer to it.
I am sorry that you did not see your way to let me have a couple of copies of the complete work bound up for the salesman of the Mandrake Press. My other publications are going very well and what we want is to put over Magick at the same time. We should also like a definite account from you, which you ought to be able to do now that the whole work is in type. With this we shall be able to calculate how many copies we have to sell in order to be able to pay you in full without drawing from other credits. We very much want to get this whole business finally settled up without further delay.
Please let us have the account and a couple of copies of the complete work to show to booksellers.
Yours very truly.
