(Portugal),

6th. January, 1930.

The Mandrake Press,

41, Museum Street,

London, W.C.1.

Dear Sirs;

I confirm my letter of the 15th December and have pleasure in enclosing a cheque, value £2.3.6, in payment of your invoice of the 4th. December, relating to the second volume of Aleister Crowley's "Confessions". (Cheque No. 155775, drawn by Banco Lisboa & Acores on the National Provincial Bank.)

I apologize for the excessive delay in this remittance, the more so that I had expected to make it at the end of last month. I have, however, only just returned to Lisbon.

Yours fraternally,

Fernando Pessoa.
