Correspondence from Unknown to Aleister Crowley
October 6 1932
Dear Sir,
The article in the Daily Mirror "Cult with Elixir of Life" interests me very much indeed—and if possible should certainly like to know about it. Through a personal friend of mine I have knowledge of the treatment in Vienna by a German doctor—my friend most certainly came back a far younger man than he was when he went there—he did this on behalf of a large daily paper—and I have myself been in correspondence with Dr. Woronoff some years back.
Personally I have been experimenting with different methods and things for several years—on myself—I am 67—and have found that a preparation made by an English firm of repute, and openly labelled "Monkey Gland" works as far as I can judge almost marvels—keeping me fit and in full vigour almost as if I was only 40—and for months at the time after only a few treatments which I carry out myself.
Unfortunately I have all my life had a not too strong chest, with a little asthma—but otherwise am absolutely fit. Some years ago, before I knew of these things I was always more or less ill. As an investigator I am very interested if you can find it possible at this stage to let me know more about it and as an experimenter on myself—with the not unnatural wish to make my life as healthy as possible—I am doubly interested.
Kindly address reply to my private house as under this letter.
Yours faithfully.
