Correspondence from Wilfred Talbot Smith to Aleister Crowley

I wired you all the money I could get. It is the entire bank account of the O.T.O. . . . We are all broke—I in debt, so that is all that can be done. I hope it will do some good. . . . Jane [Jane Wolfe] is O.K. and you have not a naughty mind—he, Paul [Paul Seckler], is just as busy as a bee. So much so that if he and she don't get busy in another direction for a change, we will have to fill their place with others who can pay their way in cold cash. . . .

Your letter is cheery despite everything. You sure have intestinal fortitude or, in the vernacular, guts. Yes, when a man plays almost a lone hand for nearly half a century "In the Reign of a tortured lamb and the realm of a Sexless Owl, he certainly has got 'em.

Love from all.
