Correspondence from Karl Germer to Jane Wolfe

Dear Jane,

93

I owe you a letter in reply to yours of Sept. 9, I think, and Oct. 6 Please excuse the delay, but I am too busy just now.

I have no news from Aleister about the Commentary to AL, if you have, please let me know. Meanwhile, I should keep these typescripts. They are too valuable. They were naturally sent to Jack Parsons as head of the lodge and as a member of the Order. He has withdrawn from both. He has even offered for sale unique MSS. Why should he not do the same with this one? A.C. may take a different view, however, but do not act without instructions.

Sometimes, I think there are attacks; on the whole I do not like that way of looking at it. Possibly my being in Concentration Camps were magical attacks. But they also were the means for rather interesting initiations. So what? Are 'attacks' induced by the 'Lord initiating' in order to bring about conditions that make initiation possible?

The fact is that while Sascha [Sascha Germer] had her fracture, I had two accidents with the car (first in 10 or 15 years); my nervous condition was bad; and Aleister wrote me that approximately during this period he also felt a severe strain. He says that the high tension is the world with its complicated strain and utter confusion has an effect on our aura. My condition, by the way, has improved very considerably, I actually feel back to normal. But certainly not through the help of doctors.

I do not feel sorry about the breakdown of your car. I know how it must affect you, and my sincere wish is that you may soon be able to find some second-hand gears.

Let this be all. Sascha asks me to send you and Mary K. her love and, of course, here is mine.

Ever yours,

Karl
