Beat Pellen[2] easily enough now I have his measure.

 

Hotel Central good, clean, cheap and speaks English. Developed plan to utilize local scenery—see 12 Sept[ember]. Even the tree: on Hanni [Hanni Jaeger]!

The other “Boca do Infierno” will get me—it will not be as hot as yours.

9. P.M. I solemnly divested myself of all my dignities and authority in the Order—in the Word [Word of the Equinox] Ylalu. Let us celebrate the Festival of the Equinox of Autumn.

 

 

1—Crowley carried with himself a device to test the level of albumin in his blood, probably through urine. Other similar annotations from this point on show that he was testing the level of albumin almost on a daily basis, comparing it with his general physical condition. Normal levels of albumin in blood range from 3.5 to 5 g/dL.

2—Eduardo M. Pellen was an engineer particularly active in the local chess scene.
