She [Blavatsky] wrote really fine literature—"The Voice of the Silence." (Also, it is still a best-seller after 50 years). She had a greater influence on religious thought in Europe than any one since Luther. That is not to be done by fraud. Her tricks & troopers' oaths were her safeguards against going mad—as you would do if you had as many followers & disciples & devotees to pester you as she had. . .)

     

Pam & Christ Child [Vyvyan Deacon] to dinner. He behaved outrageously.
