[I Ching hexagram] 62.

Dream. I had several long talks with Hitler a very tall man. Forget subjects, but he was pleased & impressed: ordered all my books translated & made official in Germany.

Later, a dusky night in a city. A man in gold-braid went round a corner, saw several horsemen, similarly gorgeous, one fired the first shot of the war.

1 o'c. 61 Jermyn St. Driberg [Tom Driberg].

Ernest Hamilton & Tour. Not as good as it should have been.

Dinner with Ruby [Melville] 7 o'c. Good, but dull. Ruby tried to put us off: Catherine [Catherine Falconer] got mad, & walked out. How silly!
