5 o’c Cathrine [Catherine Falconer] sprang upon me unaware! Took her for a drink: settled to Fore & Aft. Score A-M 10-3 L&M I fave her, because Cecil [Robert Cecil] had come in. B lost, because at UBLE I didn’t think of CHASUBLE, which kills her. So, like a fool, I put an O & she slew me with a T.
