Aleister Crowley Diary Entry

Thursday, 6 July 1944

[I Ching hexagram] 28.

£10 from [Frater] LOV [James Gilbert Bayley].

Finished A.E.E. [Aleister Explains Everything] 37 “Belief in God” [letter for what eventually became Magick Without Tears].

Nervous wretched all day—why? (Probably awaiting news from Bray [Sangorski & Sutcliffe] of delivering books).

Yet composed on longish walk, a “Boer Commando Song”.

Found, near bathing pool, a ‘blasted oak’ with young trees growing gaily out of the scarred stem. See [I Ching hexagram] 28 [I Ching hexagram] lines 2 & 5!!

11.44 PM Gunfire? 11.50 or thunder?
