Another similar day, but with numberless annoying chits & incidents.
Went to Ch.[ess] Cl.[ub], watched idly, wouldn’t play.
Sent Watson [Herbert Watson] to London for things; esp. ginseng.
Idle med[itatio]n. (till) supper.
